ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro 1TB NVMe SSD Review: Affordable & Capable
Today we are reviewing the ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro which is an affordable entry level M.2 SSD that has proven to be an amazing bargain for the price. The last ADATA NVMe SSD we reviewed was the XPG Gammix S11 Pro and we were extremely pleased with the solid results it achieved, let’s see if it’s more affordable counterpart is capable of the same!
Unboxing & Overview
The SX6000 Pro comes packaged in an all-black box with red accents and white lettering. The front of the box displays the drive as well as the various technologies included such as 3D NAND, NVMe 1.3 and SLC caching.
The back of the box displays the drive’s performance specs which are 2,100 MB/s for sequential reads and 1,500 MB/s for sequential writes.
We were sent the 1TB (1024GB) version but it also comes in 512GB and 256GB capacities. The M.2 drive itself is quite minimalistic featuring an attractive single-sided all-black PCB design.
Here’s the back of the drive. You can see the adhesive sticker on the back of the included metal heat spreader.
The optional brushed metal heat spreader is black with red and white branding and looks great.
Here it is prior to installation in the Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI for our In Win A1 Plus build.

Performance
The SX6000 Pro uses the Realtek RTS5763DK NVMe controller and has a DRAM-less design. However, it uses host memory bus technology in order to improve performance past that which other DRAM-less SSDs on the market achieve.
Our drive was able to hit its specified speeds of 2,100 MB/s and 1,500 MB/s. The random performance for the SX6000 Pro tops 250,000 IOPS read and 240,000 IOPS write.
Here’s how it stacks up to the faster XPG Gammix S11 Pro as well as the WD Black SN750 and Samsung 970 Evo/Pro.

Conclusion
At $100 at the time of writing, the SX6000 Pro offers great value to performance, at just .10 cents per gigabyte. This pricing is very similar to SATA SSDs, but the SX6000 is an NVME drive and offers increased speeds. This is a fast drive and is intended for the segment of the market that is looking to get into NVMe drives without spending too much.
There are a lot of M.2 NVME SSDs on the market currently. Although the SX6000 Pro is not the fastest NVMe drive available, it has great value. If you are looking for a new NVME drive that won’t break the bank or are upgrading from an older SATA SSD or hard drive for the first time, we highly recommend the ADATA Gammix SX6000 Pro. For those looking to upgrade to a faster ADATA NVMe SSD, we recommend the XPG Gammix S11 Pro.
