Adata XPG Spectrix D60G RGB RAM Review: Dazzling Diamonds
Today we will be reviewing Adata’s XPG Spectrix D60G, which has more RGB lighting surface than any other RAM module on the market! Its looks make it an interesting competitor to the likes of G.Skill Trident Z RGB and Corsair’s Vengeance RGB.
Unboxing & Initial Impressions
The packaging for the XPG Spectrix D60G is all black with colorful images of the RGB RAM sticks on the front. Across the top, they show compatibility information with most motherboard RGB software. On the bottom right, we a see a sticker displaying the 8GB x 2 format of the RAM and 3200MHz speed.
The back of the package has a QR code for additional product information as well as cutouts displaying the RAM spec stickers.
When removed from their packaging, the RAM sticks are stunning! Very reminiscent of diamonds with their multi-faceted surface design.
Unlike most RAM kits that focus on head spreaders as a key point in their design, ADATA opted to thoroughly focus on RGB lighting. The sticks are made of a plastic light diffuser for the lighting areas and aluminum accents on the sides.
On the side of the sticks are stickers containing detailed information. They provide the part number, memory speed of 3200MHz, CL16-18-18 timings and the 1.35V required for it to work properly. The serial number is also present on the bottom right left of the sticker underneath the barcode.
Each DIMM weighs 48 grams and are 133mm long, 45mm tall, and 9.5mm thick.
Performance & Stability
Once plugged in, The XPG Spectrix D60G starts out with a base frequency of 2133MHz as usual when not configured for XMP.
When the XMP profile was toggled on, the frequency went up to 3200 MHz and the timings changed to CL16-18-18, while the voltage increased to 1.35V, as advertised.
RAM stability is often the most important factor when choosing a high-performance kit for your PC.
We are happy to say that our system rocking the Ryzen 7 3700x with the Gigabyte X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi worked flawlessly with the XMP profile toggled on in both games, benchmarks, and productivity tasks such as Premiere Pro and Photoshop. There were no stability issues at all observed during our testing.
